Quickpost: Windows 10
I guess I'm eating crow today.
This is probably the biggest mistake of necessity I've ever made. When my Windows 7 drivers stopped updating, 10 seemed like a reasonable decision, especially since it was being offered free.
You know what they say about something being too good to be true?
Windows 10 being free was one of those instances.
This is the second problem I've had that's apparently "common" with Windows 10 users, and that in and of itself is enough to tell me that the reason why this OS was free is because it was far from polished. It looks as though the fixes that are needed to keep 10 running on a regular basis are now a community effort because Windows fails to answer any inquiry towards fixes.
Thank god for that community, because they saved me very quickly from the latest issue I've had: a Start Menu that refused to open. It took me a while, but I finally found a fix. We'll see later I guess if that's a permanent or temporary fix, but out of consideration for others likely sharing my issue I'll post the link here for what helped me.

Option 2 was the simplest and so far, the only thing that worked.
Good luck everyone!
